General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) Policy
As a Civil Celebrant I may be both the data controller and data processor. As a Funeral Celebrant taking work from a funeral director I am the data processor.
Justification
Any personal data such as names, telephone numbers, email addresses, home addresses will only be collected and held for ease of communication in order to process the individual creation and delivery of my services as a Civil Celebrant.
Holding Data
Any information will be held electronically and on paper during the process of creating a ceremony. Once a ceremony is held the personal data will be destroyed, unless name and contact details are required for follow up work. In such instances a specific opt-in consent will be required. Presentation Scripts for ceremonies will be held electronically for a period of three years should additional copies be requested by a client, unless the client instructs otherwise.
Nobody else, apart from myself will have access to my password protected computer or where any paper information is held. Paper information will be kept for one week after the ceremony and then destroyed.
I will not share any personal data unless specific opt-in consent has been granted by any individual or family.
Your Rights
You have the right to have a copy of any data that I hold and the right to “be forgotten”. You further have the right to request that all data held on you is permanently deleted.
You have the right to withdraw consent to the use of your personal and sensitive data and to access and amend it, prevent direct marketing and automatic decision making and profiling and to request the erasure or transfer of data to another controller or data processor.
With regard to Naming Ceremonies and the details of any children under the age of 13 in the UK, I will ask for specific parental or guardian consent to use and process personal data.
Any breaches of data can be reported to me and I will investigate and report back to you how that breach occurred and actions taken to remedy the breach and prevent future occurrences.
You also have the right to obtain a copy of my GDPR Policy and Complaints Procedure and to ask questions pertaining to the handling of your personal data.
This policy only applies to the living.
